Growing Green Fair To Entertain, Inform,
Raise Funds
> Caring for creation is the theme of "Growing Green
> Fair" Saturday, November 8, 10am to 3pm at Community United Methodist
> Church.
> Promoting lifestyles in harmony with nature and
> good health, the fair will provide fun for kids, interesting
presentations,
> baked goods and beverages. Plans are in place to both educate and
entertain to
> raise funds for the church and their missions.
> Community leaders and organizations will present
> displays, demonstrations and information on how a clean environment and
health
> work together.
> Hybrid cars will be shown by their owners who will
> answer questions about them. Colorful, handmade clothes and accessories
from
> Guatemala will be for sale to support the mission there. Ramona Disposal
Company
> will unveil a new option for Julian recycling.
> The United Methodist Women will sell pre-owned
> home décor items and fair trade coffee. Camp Stevens will present
demonstrations
> on organic gardening and related topics.
> A variety of informative videos will be playing
> continuously on topics of missions, health, and creation care. The
church's
> Parish Nurse will be on hand with helps for healthy living.
> Kids will enjoy organized games and crafts related to the theme.
> This is the kick-off event for the church's
> on-going fund raiser offering non-toxic cleaning products. Up to 30% of
the
> purchase price is donated to the church from all products ordered.

The historic mountain village of Julian is
