April 8 - 12: Julian Family Fiddle Camp (Held at Camp Cedar Glen) – A five-day, emersion-style “roots” music camp for folks of all ages and levels wanting to improve their skills on fiddle, mandolin, guitar or old-time banjo.  Some of the most renowned N. American artists serve as faculty, with attendees coming from across the US as well as abroad. Held at a beautiful, rural full-service (room and board) family retreat center.   Tents and RV’s allowed, with evening concerts for the public on Friday and Saturday nights.  www.familyfiddlecamp.com


April 11: A Taste of Julian 1 to 5 p.m. – $20 person and will be available at the Town Hall prior to, as well as the day of the event. The day of the event tickets will be $25.   Participants will pick up colored wristbands to easily identify them, along with a map of participating restaurants/wineries & breweries upon check-in at the Town Hall on the day of the event.  Information - (760) 221-9608

April 12
Julian “Flash” Jam (Julian Town Hall) – An annual gathering of musicians who converge in front of the old Julian Town Hall to commence playing three traditional old-time fiddle tunes precisely at 2:00 PM.  This event attracts acoustic string musicians of all ages and abilities from far and near, with hundreds coming to fill the town with music.  After the first round of tunes at the Town Hall, the musicians move to several other spots along Main Street to repeat their performance.  Most local merchants offer discounts to those playing or carrying an instrument, with spontaneous music jams happening throughout the day at many different spots in town.  Music is king in Julian on Sunday, April 12, 2015.  With or without an instrument, come join in the fun!

July 4: Community 4th of July Parade 2015 Pre-parade activities start at 10 a.m. with a bank robbery at Rabobank, musical talent and a variety of entertainment,  the Flyover will begin approximately 11 a.m. and the Parade will step off at noon. The Parade starts at the high school and ends at Frank Lane Park.  Main Street will close at 9 a.m. and traffic will be detoured along 4th Street to C Street back to Main Street.
